Halloween II 1981
This is actually a great horror sequel. Once we get to the late 80s, the franchise becomes a collection of hits and (mostly?) misses from that point on. This one, however, remains a strong example of how to do a sequel. Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1992
I watched this movie countless times growing up in the 90s. I haven’t seen it in over 25 years, and I truthfully will say that time has served it well! It’s honestly strangely ahead of its time. It’s tongue in cheek comedy/horror with some heart mixed in.

2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
It’s going to take me a few long runs to ponder this one. I was blown away! How was this movie made in 1968??! None of it looks dated. Even if it did, it’d be forgivable considering when it was made. It looks absolutely incredible. Kubrick is a wizard employing unique camera angles and effects. Almost every sci-fi movie post-1968 has to be influenced by this in some fashion.
