    I would enjoy this movie more for being hilariously bad if I wasn't already a fan of the book.

    Dune's anti-colonial politics are completely whitewashed and it's environmentalism is basically nonexistent. The book's anti-messianic meaning is also gone, making me question what the point of this movie was.

    Beautiful movie. Like a dream you don't want to wake up from, a fading memory you desperately want to hold on to. I wish I could put all of the emotions I felt watching this into a small box that I could open at any time. So devestating and human, crying but you don't know why, mourning a loss you don't remember, but the feeling is still there. The desperate need to remember.

    I could sense the movie wavering on whether it wanted to end happily or tragically, I'm glad it ended the way it did.
