  Nicole Kidman returns to form with a juicy, complex role, and her chemistry with Harris Dickinson is nothing short of electric. My main issue lies with the third act, which feels uninspired in how it resolves its loose threads. Still, a fun experience overall.

  From the very first frame, the film establishes its theme and tone. It speaks directly to '90s kids, reminiscing about how those old, cringey fantasy TV shows provided an escape from reality and its problems. Through its allegories, creative choices, and a standout cast, this film excellently explores themes of abuse, coping mechanisms, feeling trapped within one’s body, and lovelessness. The eerie ending is a fitting conclusion to this otherworldly tragedy.
