I haven't compared to anyone else's reviews or anything, but from stiff/weak dialog to strange pacing this movie is absolutely a mess. There's a lot of strong ideas, but they might as well have been dumped into an AI program to generate a script like this. I know the Venom movies along with other Sony Marvel movies have been like ironically bad, but I expected better somehow.

This is a good movie! I don't want to spoil it, but it is much more than just the trailer! I only wish it wasn't rated R in the US because I feel like that rating means something very different from what this movie actually is like. It is another excellent Bong Joon-ho film, with captivating performances and stunning visuals. I spent the last 30 minutes of the film on the verge of tears the tension was so real!

I watched this on a Standard Definition DVD, though I hope to rewatch it on Bluray someday, even if i think some of the effects may look worse if I do.
I have only been aware of Earth Girls Are Easy since late 2023, and since then always recommend this movie to ANYONE who will consider it! It has been free on Prime Video and as of this writing is free on YouTube, though the 2022 Blu-Ray is the best package a fan of the movie could ask for!
