women!
also, fourth movie spot rotates between a list of other favorites depending on my mood atm.
I have no idea what to rate this because it’s objectively probably a good movie but I really did hate it. I enjoyed the first half hour or so, was looking forward to where it would go.
And then it fell into the trap of including some of my most hated tropes and general misogynistic mindsets.
I’ve written about this before in other film reviews, but im sick of media (and life) perpetuating the concept that a man is entitled…
Suuch a strong, fun movie! Not exactly subtle, but sometimes you don't really need subtlety in a film.
Strong points:
-the performances, ofc especially Robert Pattinson!
-really super funny and depressing at the same time
-really enjoyed the score
-some character dynamics are very sweet
-all the creeper stuff reminded me a lot of Nausicaa :')
Weaker points:
-I really liked Nasha, but the writing for her character felt sooort of inconsistent every now and then. which was a bummer.…
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Genuinely disgusting. As misogynistic as a movie can be, among other wiiiiildly gross things.
Why does he constantly make sexual comments about his daughter. Why the huge constant focus on dogs humping things. Why is every woman just a sexual object for the sake of Adam Sandler being surrounded by sexy women. Why does every man need to comment on every woman's body and rank their worth by that.
“I love silence. I love loneliness.”
Tragic film about a woman who desperately wants to be accepted, but instead feels rejected by everyone including herself.
I felt sick to my stomach the whole time while watching :( difficult watch, incredible movie.
