How strange and wonderful!! I am notoriously a lover of art that does away with realism in narrative & strict one-character focalization, so Universal Language felt as if a personal gift to me. Very few films have had me fight back tears, and this was certainly one.

Small Things Like These 2024
Not sure what to think, exactly. I admired that the film (haven’t read the book) was about a decision more than a stereotypical help narrative, and that it ended once the decision was reached. Cillian Murphy is simply astonishing as Bill. The dim and slow visuals are breathtaking. I like that we linger.
