Having never watched Saturday Night Live before and only having a passing knowledge of its characters like Chevy Chase, Jim Henson and John Belushi, I expected this to be some in-joke nonsense that wouldn't make sense to me. Truly didn't expect a movie about the selection of a new pope to be one of my favourites films of 2024, but here we are. It's full of beautiful tableaus, leaves much of its characters thoughts unsaid, and leaves you with much to think about. Top class film with fantastic ensemble performances. The score was also great and elevates the tension very nicely.

Ralph Fiennes' performance was pretty good, but I actually thought some of the moments of emotion were the weakest.

You know what I just don't know how I feel about it. One thing's for sure. The songs, animation, and characters, are all great.

The idea of a secret intelligence organisation called Beekeepers with an organizational structure where nobody answers to anybody and they're all empowered to act as they please in the interest of The Hive™️ is completely ridiculous, but the film seems to act as if it doesn't know this. It makes…
