I said at the end of this movie “I’m glad it had a happy ending” and I was super proud of that so I’m gonna leave it here.
I think this movie is super underrated, it has great style, surprising depth and great performances. I actually thought it was a pretty sad story about sexual repression, the way both characters felt so much shame and confusion early on about how to actually follow these instincts.

The writing is brilliant, with an absolutely fascinating concept. The fact this actually happens is crazy. All the performances were as great as you’d expect.
Then there’s, what I feel, is an overly hopeful ending that I just can’t believe. Maybe I’m cynical, but the way it comes about and every one’s minds were changed by one conversation felt out of nowhere. Sure, he was Jesus-like, which was the point. Perfectly understated lead performance where you feel the emotion being held back is as important as what’s being displayed, as the ludicrous nature of the plot speaks for itself. The way such a simple plot as an Iranian women trying to renew her drivers license managed to reach that level of tension and made me feel so disgusted is a testament to how well this film was made.
I watched half an hour of this movie and I’ve never seen such a technical failure of a film as this one. Such a pretentious movie that believes it’s so much smarter than it is. ACTING WITH NO EMOTION DOES NOT MAKE IT DRAMATIC FFS IT MAKES IT MIND NUMBINGLY BORING.
