Somehow plays it a bit too safe, which goes against the whole idea of Bob Dylan. Pretty standard, by the books biopic that doesn’t really do anything interesting with its subject matter.

Not bad. Just good. And that’s it.

Timmy stole the show though. Absolutely sinks himself in this role.

Literally have been trying to watch this film forever. A24 you absolutely fumbled the bag with this one.

Coleman Domingo ate up the screen. Such a subtle, powerful performance filled with patience and seething rage. Fantastic.

But Clarence Maclin stole the show for me. Just a truly honest performance. Really hope to see him in more things.

Loved the score and the direction here a lot. Again, A24 didn’t even try with this one which is sad.

Starts off a bit slow, but the last act was so perfect. Just so well shot and the action sequences are incredibly directed. Super sharp dialogue that honestly had me locked in as much as the action did.

I’ve watched this film so many times, but it definitely hit the hardest for me this time.

The end absolutely stills hits me like a rock. McConaughey does a lot of acting with his eyes here. Staring into the distance at the world his daughter helped save, and staring into his daughter’s aged eyes telling him to leave to spare his witness of her death.

Definitely Nolan’s most personal film, and my personal favorite of his.
