skating is mostly whatever, visual effects are largely annoying outside of a few (skater turning into just a neon silhouette is mostly what i’m thinking of), not really feelin this one sorry!!!! weird ass kids music + forever young were a cool vibe at least imo. bullshit that koston didnt really skate in this but those shots were fun

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
for such a cool & fun premise with great performances, this really got killed by clunky & lazy writing - the ‘xD s0 r4nDoM’ humor didnt really work half the time, they just started directly stating the themes of the movie like it was a bulletin list and the infuriating need to clean everything up too cleanly (esp for a movie so concerned with messiness)
this was basically The Butterfly Effect for people who love sharing self-care infographics 🙃

-Made me think of Trash Humpers in it’s rejection of cinematic norms despite being at different ends of the spectrum - Trash Humpers veers closer to anti-cinema while this went overly cinematic to the point of abstraction with it’s faces rendered void by thermal vision & stodgy video game dialog.
