fucked up that i forgot how brutally uncomfortable this was and decided to watch it with my parents, where about 20 minutes in i realized this is literally about them… it was like i was getting the 4DX experience from home

this is some of the meanest tv i’ve ever watched, up there with the latter half of breaking bad and every other moment in mr. robot. the three leads disappear so fully into their roles it’s genuinely painful to watch (i work with someone EXACTLY like emma stone here it’s nauseating). i don’t know that this needed to be as long as it is, but its pace honestly does contribute to this feeling like some sort of Evil Hangout Show

i’m not gonna lie, i read about half of this book and was not hopeful for how this movie was gonna turn out. so when those trailers came out and promised a very faithful adaptation, i was pretty prepped for disappointment. never should’ve doubted my boy, this was such a great time. adapts all the interesting bits from the book while eschewing its smug tone and replacing it with bong’s signature sense of humor. this is gonna flop bad and it’s so sad because i truly wish every blockbuster was this earnest and weird

can totally accept and admit that some movies simply are not for me. that being said, straight people need to keep that “dick so good it made me straight” trope/fetish to themselves, it’s like the third time i’ve seen it in one of these movies

had to be my favorite theater experience of the year, holy shit. our screening started with a totally confounding QnA that really prepped me for what was to come. accompanying coppola was deniro, who made no effort to hide how little he wanted to be there, and spike lee, who was all too willing to poke fun at coppola despite the fact…
