Whoever I say I am, I’m not.

Safe to say I have not chosen the slow cinema life. It has chosen me.
Finding out this movie is a directorial debut has me shook. This is a very intentional, meticulously thought out, strong piece of work. Very deliberate in its pacing and camera work, and also surprisingly very funny. That is, until we reach the emotional climax as the film relentlessly makes the camper in me not too happy.
Completely on accident I put this on while doing my self-imposed Contemplative Cinema challenge. This is a welcome addition to the line-up.

A lovely film to watch on this fine morning.
Sure, dark. A bit overly dramatic especially in its score, but some awesome, surprising stunts/kills. The child is a brat and I would’ve contemplated murder well before I found out he was the Antichrist.
Man this reads like a motorcycle commercial.
Fuck, it’s a motorcycle commercial.
This just continues to be everything I want and more. The jokes don’t stop coming and they’re relentless. Maybe a couple of lulls in pacing, but otherwise a fantastic comedy.
