The final Trek movie I hadn’t seen and seeing as this was a notorious one, I expected to be let down massively. Luckily, this was just merely okay! Hardy, who was an unknown at the time, really acts his guts out (quite literally), and there are some wonderfully touching moments, especially surrounding Data. Sure, it was quite dour, more focussed on action and did not have any classic “trekking” in it, but as a tragedy about a conflicted man featuring beloved characters, I think it is decent.

i laughed a few times and was pleased to see that hugh jackman can still act. really, i was just here to see wesley snipes and got channing tatum as a little extra cherry on top. it’d be wonderful if this is where it all ended (of course it won’t).
