  I first saw this film when I was maybe 14. Two decades later, and I gave it another viewing. Forgetting most of the plot points, the thing I had not ever forgotten was the feeling the film gave me. The deep feeling in the pit of my stomach of understanding what it’s like to be a teenage girl...to find respite in getting lost in fantasy, in a world that feels dark and lonely.
