  I rewatch this movie once a year, and somehow I always forget how perfect it is.

  It's a live action looney tune with heart. Every bit of dialogue serves the characters and the plot while doubling (tripling?) as a joke, from the opening lines ("The first time I met Ed was in the county lockup in Tempe, Arizona... a day I'll never forget.") to the last ("Maybe it was Utah").

  This movie gave me the worst nightmares as a kid. I hadn't seen it in years and always feared that the larva baby would give me nightmares even as an adult.

  Probably a better film on a second viewing. After almost every scene I was like, well I understood what they said but wtf is happening?

  And then the next scene would come and Id be like oh I guess that makes sense.

  I wish this was as good as the 5 star reviews claim it was, and I find those thoughts to be a little revealing.

  The first half the movie ("part 1") is so uneven, so forced, and outright unclever at times that it's... it would've worked better as a 5-10 minute SNL sketch than it does as more than an hour of film.
