So intense, the first time I've cried in a movie for... a very long time.
I was not prepared, I thought it was going to be about protests in art museums. It's a movie about pain in America since 1946, it's all there.
Seen at SF Doc Stories, Q and A with (a modest) Laura Poitras afterwards.
The best essay on durational vs clock time and habit vs action. This really is a masterpiece.
Glad I saw it in a full theater; glad I got to go for dinner with Julia afterwards to talk about it (and learn about its early 20th century theatrical predecessors).
Seen at The Roxie.
