cinematography was gorgeous. even if the sound design reminded me a lot of Evil.

definitely shows that Rob Zombie is a capable filmmaker.

every time it cut back from the hazy/blurry cut in scenes I was reminded of how vibrant and great Zombie's sets and look is.

I'd honestly held off watching this thinking it would be a gruesome/bloody bone-ripping gag-fest, but maybe Peter Jackson's early work has made me immune. this was pretty tame and light in the end (apart from maybe Dr. Satan and the fish boy).

the scene of Chiclet-teeth cop getting shot was very well done. I wasn't sure if my stream had paused or what?! but my breath was held!
