  There is a lot to mull over after seeing Asteroid City, which for me is the sign of a truly effective film. Grief, loneliness, coming of age, the purpose of science, the purpose of art – it’s all there. Recommended.

  I can’t review this movie rationally – it was a foundational text for my friend group in college from the instant we all went to a screening put on by the film society. Hence the 4.5 stars. But it’s artfully made and despite the highly specific slang and culture is one of the few great depictions of male friendship in cinema. I love every minute of it.
