Another incredible student film from Susan Seidelman, this one comes later in her career at NYU, is a touch longer, and is in color. What stuck out to me was how solid the point of view was. It feels a bit more playful, but even then stays so rooted in what it is trying to accomplish... very strong direction here.

A wonderful fever dream. Mesmerizing, dark, and funny. I love Busey as a caring dad, and I love Arquette as a sort of play on the femme fatale. Not sure about Pullman on the sax, but maybe it’s just his band that is the problem… such freeform tenor sax cannot be contained… or accompanied apparently. Of course Jack Nance liked it…
