Maybe my expectations were a little too high, but I felt a little disappointed when the movie ended. The acting, casting, soundtrack, and plot are all highlights. I can’t seem to pinpoint exactly what was wrong with Conclave, I think I was just expecting more. Still worth a watch. Spoiler: I totally called that the eventual new pope would get elected when he first showed up and I’m proud of myself.

Edge of Tomorrow 2014
This was one of those movies I’ve had on my watchlist for like 6 years. It ain’t winning any Oscars but it’s perfect for what it is: an entertaining sci-fi war movie with a cool plot. Nothing was inherently special about it but I also don’t have many complaints. Worth a watch if you’re not in the mood for a deep movie.

In terms of actually scaring you, this movie lived up to the hype. There were some genuinely disturbing and memorable scenes. Nicholas Cage’s character was creative and oddly perfectly cast. The rest of the acting, particularly from Maika Monroe, was amazing. The cinematography and style of directing made you uncomfortable but in a creepy horror movie way. (Spoiler) I’m not a fan of something supernatural being responsible for the murders and felt like the movie would’ve been a lot better…
