  Core memory: so I remember watching this for the first time when I was about 12 years old. My dad, as was his practice, gathered my brother and I to watch his favourite long-ass 60's and 70's movies every so often. After sitting on a couch with my brother for 3 hours, my take was the profound criticism of "booooorrrrrriiiinnnnnnggg."   Mickey 17 represents Bong's Western films (Snowpiercer, Okja, Mickey 17) while Mickey 18 is his Korean. That being said, I do prefer the dark, sinister approach of Mickey 18 (who doesn't?) over Mickey 17's more cute or endearing style. But hey, more Bong hits are more Bong hits, and I'll rip them every time

  This is watch number 3. The greatest joy of watching this with new people each time is witnessing the shock in their faces. "Wait, are they gonna fricking kill Jesus?" Yup. "Did Jesus just Matrix-download English to speak to Simon???" Yessir. "Oh my fricking gosh, is that Sabeer on the cross?!?!?! Absolutely. To quote Michael, "Now this is just silly."
