After seeing the terrible reviews, I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this.
There is no doubt that this is another example of some of the best CGI in recent years.
The high class cast and good story put all of it together to make a simple and easy to watch movie.
There were only a few times where I questioned some plot holes or screenwriter’s conveniences, and it certainly won’t leave you asking any existential questions or have you gripped, but that’s okay. It’s not that kind of movie.

    Not a fan.

A very boring zombie film with negatively uncanny visuals, somewhat mediocre acting, and jarring cinematography.
Although I can respect the high production value portrayed with multiple locations, expensive props, and good blood effects, I can’t ignore the fact that this zombie movie progressively forgets that it’s a movie about zombies.
The story itself is mostly okay, but the actors couldn’t seem to understand that this is a survival movie, and therefore had no sense of urgency in their performances.

Incredibly well made movie with absolutely zero plot or substance.
I couldn’t be more impressed by the visuals. Whether it be the cinematography, the lighting, the practicals, or the vfx, everything was visually amazing.
    However, there was no story.
I understand that this was based entirely from memory, but there didn’t seem to be any thematic elements or reasons for this story to be told. It’s just another day in the life movie that will most likely fade out.

I don’t understand all the hype. There is nothing groundbreaking here.
Really good performance by Adrian Brody (and not a very good one by Guy Pierce), but too long to the point that many scenes are irrelevant.
No way the Academy and Golden Globes had more fun watching this than Deadpool and Wolverine.
