The Hateful Eight 2015
Not gonna rate this cause we started playing Poker about 3/4 the way through, but I enjoyed part of it. The story wasn’t bad. My major gripe is it feels written by a 12 year old trynna be edgy and it just annoyed me considering it’s a dialogue heavy movie.

Sadly, not even Ayo Edebiri could save this. It’s not a horrible movie by any means it’s just a rehash of The Menu and Midsommar. On top of that, the suspense was just kind of missing and the writing kinda sucked. Ayo Edebiri, her Radiohead shirt, and John Malkovich earned all 3 of these stars with their killer performance. I did like the final 10 minutes though, those were good.
Good background sort of movie.

Conclave 2024
I liked it and that wasn’t how I thought the movie would play out at all. Ralph Finnes and John Lithgow were absolutely phenomenal in this, they deserve some award!
In terms of best picture, it feels like a safe vote, it’s nothing groundbreakingly crazy like Nickel Boys or The Brutalist or Piece By Piece!, but it’s still an amazing political thriller-esque movie. Plus the score is so good!
