Initially I gave this 4 stars but a different review reminded me of the scene where the dude pulled out Sophie's vein and honestly I have to give that 5 just for the audacity. I wanted to puke for a good chunk of this movie just from the sheer vibes, but like, in a good way?

Visually stunning, the sound design is so unsettling and eerie, and the storytelling is so reminiscent of folktales and fairy tales that creeped me out as a kid. The costume design is also masterful, everything looks sturdy and functional but also, importantly, realistically worn as if these people have really lived in these clothes. If I had to pick a favorite garment it would be Caleb's wool coat.
