Lisa Frankenstein reanimates a thought to be dead sub-genre of dark comedy with the use of incredible design, soundtrack, and cast. It feels like a modern entry among the rank of the often compared Heathers while also doing creative and unique things of their own. Despite drawing inspiration from other dark rom-coms, Lisa Frankenstein never feels like it’s held together by loose parts, but rather it’s own wonderful creation honoring the remains if the genre.

I cannot Get Enough of Get Out. Jordan Peele’s horror film debut sets the bar for not only his filmography, but for the modern era horror genre. Peele showcases how his background and brilliance in Comedy can translate to Horror, in a perfect blend of both worlds. Like this blend of Horror/Comedy the cast is expertly picked, some having to portray dual roles and delivering on each perfectly. From the unnerving dialogue, morbid humor, gorgeous visuals and creative details picked up on every rewatch, Get Out knocks it out of the park in an innovative and unique story.
