Visually ravishing, but otherwise the silliest of all 1970s indulgent arthouse bullshit. Brando is fucking ridiculous.

Loose Cannons 1990
One of the most bewildering things I've ever seen. Is it good? Not at all. Is it worth seeing? Absolutely.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) 2014
I simply didn't care. Great acting, particularly by Ed Norton and Emma Stone. Early on Stone's character lets loose with an eviscerating speech that summed up my feelings exactly. Then it kept going for over an hour.

Sin City 2005
This movie is almost a perfect vortex of things I don't like: style over substance, precious film noir homage, relentless recycling of cliches, hyper-overprocessd visuals making live action look like a cartoon, the "story"-telling of Robert Rodriguez, soulless action, comic books...
This was a staggeringly artful complete miss, and I'm kind of impressed by it. There wasn't a single moment that interested me. Some of the visuals were neat, but none gave it any value, and I found it tedious throughout, despite generally liking most of the actors (when did Mickey Rourke turn into a 'roided-up Robert Stack?).
