An interesting reinvention of the Trash classic augmenting the socio-political deep background of the original. In this go-around the rich are specifically targeting the poor and misfortunate because they are taxing the system. The Viper in the first film is replaced by a series of robots that seek out the homeless for eradication into neon colored pools of ooze.

The results are equally gooey, and Ryan Kruger’s embrace of practical effects harkens back to the original and gives it a throwback feel.

This movie is a lot of fun. After a very pedestrian first act, the film kicks into high gear. It swerves into very unexpected territory, and constantly keeps you guessing where it is going.

William Brent Bell manages to inject a…
