10 Cloverfield Lane 2016

Most of the time the visuals were as interesting as plain bread, but there was a consistently solid air of intrigue and tension with a satisfyingly mental climax. This was definitely better than the first but I was so confused as to how the two were connected when different aliens showed up?

Howl's Moving Castle 2004
It felt like Miyazaki was pushing the limits of the animation and it really paid off. However, the plot was surprisingly too simplistic for me to really sink my teeth into it this time.

Paranoid Park 2007
This film feels like a pathological liar is telling you a really, really, really long story they made up about themself that ends up leading nowhere. They put dramatic effect on so many moments that aren't remotely interesting, and by the end of the story you wonder why you even chose to hang out with this person.
