  Great restaurant sequence, very good train, Tommy tune!!!! But also, I don’t understand how a two and a half hour movie with an intermission and like eight characters has such uneven pacing. Some clunker songs. Sunday Clothes remains the banger of bangers. The robot was right.

  it is really something when you’re in a subculture and a big flashy documentary comes out about it and you get to say “yeah, the people who made this actually did their research and know what they’re talking about 

  There’s a lot of lanes it doesn’t go down for time reasons and that makes it suffer in terms of diversity, would have loved to see more Quincy, brothers Johnson, jarreau etc but it fully understands the provenance and mercifully leaves those absolute deadbeat motherfuckers in Yacht Rock Revue delegated to clips about the gross “ironic” captain hat stuff
