Watched at an art house theatre in Bogotá. First of all, let me just say that we do not need 4 separate dream sequences at the end. We get it, you’re artistic and familiar with the source material. I meant to post about this sooner. I think my main takeaway was wondering if this was a comedy. It’s absurd, and v dark and the shots of the concentration camp in the background are startling, but it’s not meant to make us feel good, like a comedy, and there are no clear beats or lines (minus a few maybe like, “once the vines grow in, it’ll cover it right up,”) that bring the audience in. And yet.
My take…
Ha, I rated this previously and gave it 2 stars. I swear, the first time I watched this many years ago, on a small screen, most of these scenes weren't in it.

I don’t remember how strict I’m being with my stars in letterboxd but I really enjoyed this. Was willing to wait longer to see this than Barbie, but really glad I caught this at the Regina 70mm edition IMAX. Also got a lil tour of the projection room afterwards as the line for the toilet was ‘3 hour long movie matinee with boomers’ long. Sound was incredible. Pacing was so great that a 3 hour movie was intense and exciting…
