Day of the Dead 1985
This is one of, if not the first, true horror movies I watch. In my neighbors basement during a sleepover. Best friend’s older brother rented it. Scared the absolute shit out of me. I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022
There are definitely some eye roll misteps. Anything with gen-z or technology is painful and the Sally plot feels stunted and awkward. All that said, I kind of enjoyed it. Leatherface is gnarly. The Sadness 2021
An over the top and unrelenting gorefest where nothing is off limits. Reminiscent of the Tartan Asian extreme days but more polished. Not really breaking any new ground, but not giving up any either. Where the character development or plot slumps the effects and depravity excels. The secret ingredient is the timing which drags this from a grotesque rollercoaster to plausibly horrific. Not really my thing anymore but definitely a dangerous and promising first feature.
