I finally watched through this series after years. As a young kid I read the books and loved them, transferring some scenes to screen is awkward so it makes sense why these films are how they are, but it has the unfortunate side effect of being a fun but not great film series.
I'd watch them again, Kenshin is such a naturally cool character.
Beautiful pacing in a pretty meaningless film. Faux philosophy, a Frankenstein spin that is nothing more than a single laugh, and visuals that are incredibly overrated, but seperate from the norm of high-budget films (which isn’t always a good thing).
This is not a bad film, but it is not a good film. Made well by an idiot, and I enjoyed about half of it, the other half was staring at the frame, thinking oh how is this so beloved…
