  Like a bonkers 2024 update on Troma films. If you like the original, this will give you more of the same with an ever so slightly more coherent story. It would help if you're a Fried Barry fan, too. An oozing, goopy, skin ripping, skin popping, castrating good time? I'll prob watch it again.

  Checked off all the boxes for NOIR:

  -pensive, slow cigarette smoking
  -sleepy, small town where everyone seems suspicious
  -shadows of Venetian blinds lay across the actor's faces
  -shots THROUGH Venetian blinds
  -sexy, flirty, dangerous broads
  -outsider the local police don't trust
  -a thin layer of perpetual sweat on the male actor's faces

  Good things:
  - The production design was fantastic! The clothes, hair, glasses and settings all felt OF the period. I've never been to Berlin, but I've seen films like Taxi Zum Klo and Cristiane F. This movie convinced me that I was looking at Berlin in that period, where as Atomic Blonde failed!

  - Tilda was soooooo good!

  - So many intense and brutal scenes!

  - The actual performance of Volk had me glued to the screen!

  The Demon's Rook 2013

  I now worship at this movie's altar. The budget was obviously spent on effects and makeup. Dialogue, acting and story fell by the wayside. I want to live here now.

Following
