Intentionally stupid movie. Features some of the absolute worst Arnold quips ever. And they make his character seem absolutely psychotic which is very funny and on theme I guess. Also features one of the best though, which is the "I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your goddamn spine" one.
It doesn't really have much to say beyond "isn't consumerism and violence in entertainment and stuff so…

I enjoyed this fun sci-fi jaunt a lot! The plot was a little tropey, didn't really feel like it had a lot to say, and kind of frays apart at the end, but it generally did of a good job of keeping it original and fun enough to be interesting, and the performances are so good that the shortcomings were easy to overlook.

Wow these old Buster Keaton movies are so unbelievably funny still, I am just as shocked as I was by The General. Over 100 years later and it still holds up and is fun all the way through.
It's classic "Keaton fucks around on a train and hijinks ensue" for a the first part. The beginning is kinda slow compared to The General, but the gags / stunts start coming one after the other once he gets on the train…
This is such a fantastic movie. It's been a few years since I last watched it, but the very first sequence with the commercials instantly made me remember why I loved it so much. Plus, the horrifically violent and amoral capitalist hellscape it portrays just hits a little different these days.
