I love a suspense/mystery/thriller/spy drama. And I love Cate Blanchette. So there’s no way I wasn’t going to enjoy this movie. I laughed, I was surprised, and I definitely didn’t ever 100% know what was going on, so it was easy to be completely rapt in the story line. Plus the interior design of the house was *chef’s kiss*.

I didn’t know a single thing about this movie before I walked in but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! It didn’t seem like my type of movie, but I thought it was entertaining the whole way through. There are times when you think you know what is gonna happen and then something else happens. It was funny, heartwarming and weird. Plus, the cast was great. It was a bit on the nose with references to current…

I was really impressed with everything in this movie!!! The vocals, the choreo, the costumes, the production! 10/10! I cried at least 4 times… everything was so beautiful! But it was also surprisingly comedic (thanks Bowen!) and I chuckled quite a few times, too. I really love that they made it sooo cinematic, and not just a typical movie musical. There honestly weren’t that many songs in Part I relative to the run time. So I felt like I was really taken along on the journey and not being distracted with random songs every two minutes that didn’t fit the context. Can’t wait for Part II!

I really enjoyed the production/lighting/costuming etc of this movie. It was campy and fun! It obviously wasn’t trying to be too serious, but I really didn’t think it was bad! Great for spooky season! Even though the dialogue left a bit to be desired, there were a few LOL moments for me. Shiela’s character specifically was so stupid and funny. Plus, amid the cheese plots and subplots, there were some valuable learning lessons and morals to be taken away. Would recommend!
