A Real Pain 2024
Definitely better written than directed. Without that monologue scene it wouldn’t be nearly as good. Heard Jesse writes plays and this makes sense. The result’s an uneven film but I enjoyed what it got right so much I can excuse its lapses in other areas tbh.

I’m uniquely susceptible to body horror so it got me good ngl even though the themes are obvious and in your face. The dialogue being bad on purpose doesn’t actually make it better. By the end the obviousness overrides the body horror discomfort. Should’ve felt depressed by the end but mainly felt annoyed
