Very high on the "yell frustratedly at the protagonists" meter. The first act has a ton of promise though, reeeaaaally creepy. That big fast scary truck!! Extremely visceral stuff. Justin Long and Gina Philips turned in some good performances.
It loses a lot of juice when it becomes a creature feature and that's coming from someone who normally really loves a nasty goopy prosthetic guy. I was much more freaked out when I thought it was just an evil backwoods weirdo.

CW sexual assault
Absolutely deranged. Wonder Woman wishes for her lover to return from the dead, so a random man's mind is wiped and replaced with his. Then she happily fucks him for the rest of the movie, only freeing him from sexual mindslavery to regain her powers in a scene played for the tragedy of two lovers' separation.
How is this not rape?

Rewatched with visiting brother. Think this is time number 3?
This was the final movie of a very important and formative era for me in cinema. Iron Man came out 1 week after this one did and began the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They stopped making these. Now Godzilla and King Kong fight, and you can’t see shit. And when you can, it looks too real and too fake at the same time.
Speed Racer was the closing statement of a better, more candy-colored world. It closed a chapter, and I miss it. They used to make movies like this and they don’t any more.
