There have been moments in Nolan’s previous films where I didn’t fully understand what was going on, but it would frustrate me as I knew what I was watching was great. I would still be fully engaged and have a desire to figure it out.
This time I just didn’t care, which is quite sad.

Ultimately disappointing, admirable for Edwars to try and focus on human emotion in such a big blockbuster but unfortunately it isn't anywhere near as executed as well as in his last film. The only interesting character (Cranston) is sidelined and we are left with the uncharismatic Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the useless Elizabeth Olsen and Ken Watanabe, who seems to spend the whole film looking confused and not doing anything remotely rememberable. Being constantly cock teased with potentially awesome Godzilla fights is irritating and by the time you get to see one in its full glory, whilst looking fantastic, I just didn't care.
