    Being involved in any artistic medium is inherently ridiculous. Populated entirely by the goofiest, pettiest, most stubborn people you’ll ever encounter who do very silly things entirely just to make a point—to themselves, to others, to some sort of larger vague apparatus that they’re so totally against. These people are completely obtuse, meandering, and unrefined in their ways of communication in some way or another. And all the same, there is a very deep passion and solidarity between all, that is often unspoken yet (usually) still felt. A very loving piece, which I loved back.

    The fundamental failure of this film to disconnect its completely hollow spiritual commentary, with its tried-and-true genre motifs, ultimately leaves me wanting to rewatch something like Silence, which would fill me with slightly less dread about the impending real-life inability of the Church to not continue being a decaying rotten corpse run by the nastiest, cattiest coworkers you share lunch with.
