The parallels that can be drawn from this film and the Red Scare of the 1950s-1960s are very transparent. Don Siegel does a phenomenal job of incorporating the idea of Communism into the film, such as the "rebirth" of people into more ignorant people, ones without emotion, no incentive to help others other than their kind. The fictional aspect of the film was done very neatly, and the entire plot almost seems real, things that may happen in our reality.…
