“call me by your name” did not make me horny for a fruit, but this did, because i wanted to fuck a tangerine the entire time.

the greatest conclusion to a film series of all time. i wept.

(surprisingly, will say that extended is better!)

the attentive among you will remember that while i thought it was well made, i found the extended cut of this film absolutely excruciating to sit through. yet again, the theatrical cuts come clutch, cos this was fucking great!

just fantastically done character drama all across the board, capped off with one of the all-time great movie battle sequences. again, would be a five-star but there are just parts of this i don’t care about, namely anything involving the ents, and i also think that frodo and sam get up to fuck all the whole movie, but other than that this one is straight fire.

rewatched the series today and i’ve realised that not only twin peaks but all of david lynch’s work is absolute garbage. i literally cannot stand pretentious nonsense like this and i can’t believe i ever enjoyed it. boring, mind-numbing bullshit with nothing to say and no passion for the art of filmmaking. think i might rewatch “mars attacks!” to remind myself what genuine cinema is.

    (happy april 1st everyone!)

everything about this film is just incredible.

guy pearce, adrien brody, felicity jones and joe alwyn all deliver outstanding performances. the cinematography is magnificent, paired up with the inspired editing choices to create a wholly captivating cinematic vision - only as brooding as it is bold. on a rewatch, the pacing is faultless, every scene is so gripping and layered that it feels like little over two hours by the end, and i truly mean that.

    i adore the ideas…
