I WAS THE TARGET AUDIENCE.
The directing was great, good pace of film and the main couple was able to develop and breathe which is refreshing. Watching this in the cinema is hilarious if the people around you think out loud. It blends well with the awkward pacing of the movie — i wouldn’t watch this in full at home ever. A constant cycle of WTF and gaggery, and wondering how long is left in the movie. The characters are shot very aesthetically, the jiggling sweaty calf muscles were so emotive for some reason, the hurricane scene was a particular scend where i felt the actors didnt look great. Also the music score is begging people to know that the director’s Italian. Great performances by the leads

Completely get the philosophical debate behind intersex in Hinduism, commentary on India’s relationship with democracy and religion and capitalism. I dont know how Dev Patel’s character reconciles all of this by finding who he is through more violence. If Oliver (maybe accidentally?) killed off everyone else but Felix and had a gross codependent thing with him it would have been more potent than this sloppy parasite wrap-up. Felix is actually an interesting character and caged up in an interesting / understandable way, Oliver is just an upper-middle rat and it DOES not make sense for him to have a manipulation game plan like this wo any social experience in high school.
