a near-perfect movie. paints a portrait of the people bathed in the city lights but never quite feeling its warmth. it's found family and mistakes, both hasty and adolescent; it's open arms and the thrill of a night gone awry. well-paced, it keeps you on the edge of your seat without losing its emotional core. a beautiful welcoming into a new year.
