The Abyss 1989
This movie is a fantastic cinematic tech-demo at best, but even that characterization is hamstrung by boring, ugly, ineffective cinematography during all the "easy" on-set scenes. More importantly, the plot is just unforgivable Reagan-era sexist garbage wrapped up in an abysmal (get it?), petulant script written by a sociopathic man who clearly hates women and yet appears to be addicted to marrying and divorcing them. This sucks and James Cameron should sink down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench with all his Avatar money and stay there.
