The Zone of Interest 2023
Perhaps the most concentrated distillation and focused delivery of a film's subject I've ever seen. It's hard to convey how precisely orchestrated the horror depicted was - the music, the screams, the cuts, the imagery: it felt otherworldly and all too familiar at the same time. Some of the greatest unsettling and uneasiness came over me as a result. I was nonetheless hooked. Mesmerized and sad and angry and restless.
I'm sure I've hoped that one of the most immersive, atmospheric films I've ever experienced wouldn't be centered on one of humanities greatest sins.

Gorgeous. Great pace, great acting, great writing. Truly unique sci fi with some of the best visuals and world building I've ever seen.
Support well made sci fi that, with a fraction of a budget compared to larger films, looks better than any recent film. Its visuals certainly sit alongside other masterful effects-reliant films. Perhaps even surpasses them.
