  Yes, it’s quite literally propaganda for big oil, but what Bowers is doing here in regard to the form and style of stop-motion is ahead of its time. While it’s not quite like the work of George Pal, it does come across as somehow akin to Rankin/Bass and of Švankmajer (and possibly Seman, but I’d need to do some rewatches of his shorts to reach a verdict I feel confident in).
