What the f was this film.
Is it good, or is it great?
The precision is sometimes perfect, impeccable. There’s some incredible camera poetry, probably the best focus pulling ever? If you watch it, you’ll encounter what I mean.
Anne Bankcroft is an underrated God. A giant. A life force.
But what is this movie. I do not know.

The Brood 1979
Perhaps his most brutal, but not most disturbing, of his work. The Brood is Great from the very start. Cast is wild. The things David wrote on those pages, complex, deep, nuanced, clinical, emotional. And the cast, they just sing through their performances.
And Oliver Reed. Just love every second of him on that celluloid.
