Now, i don’t like musicals at ALL but rhis is probably as close to perfection as you can get. Gene Kelly and Debby Reynolds’s are so unbelievable with their vocals. And it just was FUN. It looks like the cast enjoyed themselves so much. Tjat side character guy is so ridiculously silly and funny. Need to live wirh such whimsy. Super silly and fun, but beyond rhat- rhis is a cinematic EXPERIENCE. The odes to pre-code Hollywood are heavy handed and extravagant. The whole movie is just the whole idea of Hollywood STARS pn sound stages dancing around and being gay.

This movie pulled me out of my depressive episode. ALso, it feels like a early 2000s high school comedy flick without the male gaze. I always felt a disconnect from those movies, but this is like if those movies were made for lesbians from the ages of 23-28... super fun, i was laughing the whole time
