phenomenal. some very minor things that I felt snapped me partially out of the magic at points, but this movie (and I hate saying this bc it sounds so cheesy) took such good care of the musical. Ariana was spectacular and Cynthia was, to be expected, dazzling and I’m happy she is finally getting her mainstream flowers. as someone who has seen the broadway show three times, this movie held up so well, I loved it and I felt like that little kid in the gershwin all over again

The Substance 2024
gets another half star on rewatch! this is my top film of the year. love a fucked up, weird movie. this movie is so hot but also, again, so fucked up. it has great references to some of horror’s most iconic movies, it’s a career high for Moore, the score is incredible and the makeup/prosthetics are top notch! in short, it checks so many boxes for me
