First Reformed 2017
Went into this movie with very little info about what it was actually about, but had a feeling it was going to make me feel kind of sad. It’s strange that something can be both jarring and comforting. I guess that’s what makes art so beautiful. It let me into someone else’s journey through many (and all at once) feelings of pain and abandonment which in some ways helps to be okay with my own, while recognizing how devastating it is.
Anyways I don’t think I blinked once in the whole film because I felt so involved. And now I want everyone I know to watch it!
